Candice Towell is an award-winning professional photographer who is committed to visual storytelling. Candice’s experiences as a photojournalist married by her artistic training, yield a strong eye for capturing unscripted moments and compelling portraiture, priming her for photographing weddings in a documentary style.

In 1999 she graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno, with a BA in Art with an emphasis on Photography and a minor in Journalism. That same year she began her career working as a staff photographer at the Reno Gazette-Journal, teaching black & white photography at the University of Nevada, Reno, and working as a freelance photojournalist. She has photographed everything from wedding ceremonies to political upheavals from California to Kenya. Her extensive coverage in Africa has earned her several awards with the National Press Photographer’s Association: www.ctowellphotos.com. Candice’s images have appeared in hundreds publications including, U.S. News and World Report, The New York Times, NEED magazine, USA Today and Stern Magazine.

Currently she resides in Reno, Nevada, and works out of her home as a wedding and freelance photojournalist. Candice is an active and dedicated philanthropist on behalf of several grassroots organizations assisting impoverished tribes in Africa. She has lived and worked abroad and welcomes the opportunity to travel any distance for a wedding.
